The Orchestra
Rehearsals: Wednesdays 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The Advanced String Orchestra is comprised of highly motivated high school musicians, performing advanced level repertoire of various styles from Baroque through Popular. Students accepted to the orchestra must exhibit refined orchestral technique as well as highly proficient sight reading skills.
The orchestra's past performances have included the Stein Chamber Music Festival, Massachusetts Educator's Conference, Heritage Museum of Lexington, New Repertory Theatre Gala, Children's Hospital and Massachusetts State House. Students enrolled in the ensemble earn community service credit which can be applied to their respective school programs.
Rehearsals and Concerts
All rehearsals are held in the state-of-the art Palandjian Arts Center at Belmont Day School, 55 Day School Lane, in Belmont.
Auditions & Enrollment
Auditions are held in June and August for entrance in September.
Students are required to enroll for both semesters.
Tuition $280 per semester
